Initially, Koon Heng Engineering Works was established as sole propriety company in the year 1973 that involved in the provision of maintenance of palm oil processing machinery, manufactured and supplied palm kernel expeller machineries and equipment. In the year 1980, Koon Heng Engineering Works started to expand the business to oversea, exported in-house designed and manufactured kernel expeller machinery and mechanical equipment to Indonesia. Koon Heng Engineering Works exported palm kernel expeller machinery to Nigeria and Africa in the year 1985.

Koon Heng Engineering Works was changed to KhunHeng Engineering Works Sdn. Bhd. on 9th Septmeber 1988 that expanded product portfolio to other types of palm oil processing machinery. In the year 2002, YKL Engineering Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated for fulfilling the market needs and exploring new market. YKL Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is a company that more focuses on design and manufacture of Empty Fruit Bunch Processing Machinery and Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) splitting machineries. Furthermore, YTH Agri-Technology Sdn. Bhd. was established in the year 2009 to develop and manufacture automated seed pressing machinery.

Each company so established to focus on design and manufacture different machinery. Therefore, companies KhunHeng Engineering Works Sdn. Bhd., YKL Engineering Sdn. Bhd., and YTH Agri-Technology Sdn. Bhd. together formed YKL Group.

In conclusion, YKL Group has possessed over two (2) decades of wealth experience in palm oil industry. Yet, YKL Group continued to engage in Research and Development (R&D) with purpose to innovate and improve new machinery to meet the palm oil industry needs and requirement. This is very important for YKL Group to satisfy customer, expand business globally and increase profit. Furthermore, the concept of YKL Group is to be a one (1) stop centre for the industries in seeking for related services. Therefore, YKL Group has also kept upgrading the company’s quality system to meet the requirement of ISO 9001:2008.

YKL Group has continuously to design, fabricate, supply, delivery, install and commissioning machines and mechanical equipment for oil mills on complete turnkey basis.
