Rafflesia Medical Centre (RMC) is now proud to announce the opening of additional clinics after the final inspection from the Ministry of Health in February 2013. The Opening ceremony of the expansion was officiated by YB Datuk Rosnah Hj. Abdul Rashid Shirlin, Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia.
With the new expansion, RMC is now operating 3 more consultation clinics which are Clinical Psychology, Foot and Spine Healthcare Orthotic (MyOrtho), and Orthopaedic. RMC is planning to add a few more specialists such as Rheumatologist, Cardiologist and Oncologist so to develop a wider variety of medical services.
According to the chairman of RMC, Datuk Abdullah Hj Sibil said that the Board of Directors and management of RMC have laid out its immediate term which includes increasing the number of practising consultants. “We will be actively recruiting more visiting and resident consultants to work with Rafflesia Medical Centre thus we will be able to provide more specialties to the public”. He also said that they will develop a wider variety of hospital services through the recruitment of allied health professions either by employment or pieces meal basis, for e.g dieticians and nutritionist. Secondly to conduct personal and occupational safety and health courses and continue to pursue more panelships from insurance and GLCs.
RMC has started operating on November 2004, as the 3rd private medical centre in Sabah offering seondary and specialized tertiary healthcare services. From then, RMC has grown substantially, incorporating a diagnostic centre. Currently, RMC has 8 resident consultants and 12 visiting consultants with specialities in; Anesthesiology, Clinical Psychology, Ear Nose & Throat , Gastroenterology , General Physician, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Radiology, Pediatrics and Urology.
Since from beginning, RMC has adopted both Sekolah Seri Menagasih and Cita Cita Learning Centre as their Corporate Social Responsibility program partners. Lately, they have been actively providing speakers to talk on Elderly healthcare topics to the Warga Emas Penampang which is sponsored by Sabah Credit Corporation.
Their next phase of expansion will be adding 13 more beds to upgrade RMC to a 30 bedded medical centre.
