Murano is an island located 3km north of Venice in Italy. Murano's products are the most recognizable glass around the world due to its properties with unique, the finest and most elegant glass. Murano became the center of Venetian glass making in 1291, when glass foundries were moved from Venice to reduce the risk of fires. At that time, Murano glass workers operated at the leading edge of glass technology.

The glass workers of Murano are still following their age-old techniques today. Making the beautiful glass beads for jewelry takes an enormous amount of skill and expertise.
