What is..... EXCESS?

EXCESS refers to the first amount (excess) which you shall be responsible as specified in the Schedule in respect of each and every claim payable (including costs and expenses and expenditure incurred by the insurance company in the conduct, defence and settlement of any claim) under the 'Loss or Damage To Your Vehicle' section and under 'Liability To Third Parties' section (covering damage to property as a result of an accident arising out of the use of your vehicle) as specified in the policy, in addition to any other excess that may be applicable.

 

Do you know that there is a Compulsory Excess?

In the event of any claim arising under the 'Loss or Damage To Your Vehicle' section, you are responsible in respect of each and every event for a compulsory excess of RM400.00 in addition to the excess stated in the Schedule (if any) IF your vehicle is being driven by the following persons authorised by you:

 

a.Any person under the Age of 21 years

b.Any person who is the holder of a Provisional (L) driving licence

c.Any person who is the holder of a Full Driving licence of less than 2 years

d.Any person not named in the Schedule

e.Any person named in the Schedule who is less than the age of 21 years and/or the holder of a provisional (L) driving licence and/or the holder of a Full Driving licence of less than 2 years

Avoid argument, controversy and dispute.

 

Please note down the following:

WHAT TO DO AFTER AN ACCIDENT?


a.REGISTRATION NUMBERS of all vehicles involved in the accident;

 

b.NAME of the INSURANCE COMPANY and their policy or certificate number;

 

c.NAMES and ADDRESSES of witnesses and sketch a plan of the accident scene; and

 

d.EXTENT of the damages and injuries of parties involved.

 

Lodge a police report within 24 hours.

 

Do not admit liability or commit settlement with Third Party/ies.

 

You must notify the Insurer (Insurance Company) immediately (even if you do not intend to make a claim) to protect both yourself and your Insurer against any liability that may arise out of the accident.

 

Note:

It is a condition of the policy of insurance that all accidents must be reported to the Insurer within a reasonable period of time.  Failure to do so will constitute a breach of the policy condition and will entitle the Insurer to repudiate all liabilities that may arise out of the accident or recovery of any monies paid as a result.

WHAT IS KFK-OD CLAIM?

KFK-OD stands for Knock-For-Knock Own Damage claim. In the event of a motor accident and if it is not the Insured's fault, one may make a KFK-OD claim on his/her own comprehensive insurance without the NCD (No Claim Discount) being forfeited (subject to the terms and conditions stated in the KFK Claim Declaration Form) and hence, speeding up the process of repairing your own vehicle.

 CHAIN COLLISION GUIDELINE

Vehicle No. 4 C..R..A..S..H!-----Vehicle No. 3  C..R..A..S..H!----- Vehicle No. 2 C..R..A..S..H!-----Vehicle No. 1

 

In the event of a Chain Collision as in the example above which involves 3 or more vehicles and in accordance to the Bank Negara guideline with effect from 3rd January 2001, it is determine that Vehicle No. 4 shall be responsible for the damage to Vehicle No. 3; 3 for 2; and 2 for 1.

In other words, as from 3rd January 2001 the guideline states that in the event of a chain collision the vehicle behind shall be responsible for the damage to the vehicle immediately in front.  If and should the collision of your vehicle to the back of the vehicle immediately in front is caused by the impact of the vehicle behind you, then the Third Party claimed against you by the vehicle owner in front will not affect your NCD benefit.

BREAKAGE OF GLASS IN WINDSCREEN, WINDOW OR SUNROOF

Endorsement 89

 

Breakage of Glass in Windscreen, Window or Sunroof

In consideration of the payment of additional premium by You to the Insurer, the Insurer will pay the cost of REPLACING OR REPAIRING (with effect from 17th July 2006) any glass in the windscreen, window or sunroof including lamination / tinting film, if any, of Your Vehicle following breakage of such glass up to an amount not exceeding RM............ (the amount You insured for).

 

Provided no claim is made for any further damage to Your Vehicle, any claim under this endorsement shall not affect Your No Claim Discount (NCD) and You shall not be liable for any excess as stated in the policy.

 

This benefit shall automatically be terminated upon replacement of any glass in the windscreen, window or sunroof unless cover is reinstated by payment of a further additional premium.
