FOREIGN WORKER COMPENSATION SCHEME (FWCS)
The Workmen’s Compensation Act 1952 was amended in August 1996 Under Section 26(2) of the Amended Act, it is mandatory for every employer to insure all the foreign workers employed by him under an approved insurance scheme in respect of any liability he may incur under the Workmen’s Compensation Act 1952. Any employer who fail to insure the foreign workers under the approved insurance scheme shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding RM20,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or both.

FOREIGN WORKERS HOSPITALIZATION AND SURGICAL (SKHPPA)
Statement Pursuant to Section 149 (4) of the Insurance Act, 1996. You are to disclose in the proposal form, fully and faithfully all the facts which you know or ought to know, otherwise the Policy issued may be void. In view of increasing Hospital and Surgical charges, this Scheme is specially designed to reduce the financial burden of the Employers of foreign workers in the event of hospital admission of their foreign workers due to accident or illness.

The employers, especially those who employ a number of workers normally obtain the IG/BG from insurance companies rather than placing cash or using their own Bank Facilities.
The amount and the period of guarantee are pre-determined by the Department. They will be based on the nationality of the workers. The amount of gurantee ranged from RM250.00 to RM3,500.00. The most common duration required is eighteen (18) months.
Append below the circumstances under which the IG/BG may be called by the Immigration Department:-
1.Breach of Section of the Immigration act of Malaysia.
2.If the worker remains in Malaysia after the expiry of permit or visa.
3.If the employer fail to provide air passage for the worker to his country of origia upon expiry of permit/visa.
4.If the worker run away from their employment.
